There are lot of discussion about the price increase of petroleum products these days. Coming days are days of protests and harthals. I just thought of comparing the salary/wage of 40 years back in1970 and that of current year 2010. The wage has increased 75 to 130 times and that of some commodities 15 to 18 times!!! The least increase is in the price of Petrol !!!. So can we say the cost of petroleum products has increased abnormally? Since the pay has increased many times, the purchasing capacity has increased.

This is in response to the news item in Mathrubhumi about MP chief minister & BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s picnic spree on the harthal day. When the whole state was reeling under the influence of the BJP-backed BMS harthal which was total on Dec.29, 2009, the minister chose to utilize the opportunity to spend a holiday relaxing in a houseboat at Aleppey backwaters and touring other places in Kerala. This is nothing short of political autocracy indicative of total disregard for the general public. While the day was marked by riotic events and sporadic incidents of violence, chaos and damage in different districts, with stoning of buses and forceful shutting down of shops and eateries resulting in sheer misery for stranded passengers and the mainstream people, the minister ended up enjoying the day, travelling with his family under tight security.
Supporting a harthal and cashing in on it! Isn’t it like deliberately taking the common man for a ride? The least that the VIPs can do on the day is to endorse public opinion and sit at home or the guesthouse. The minister’s public gesture reflects badly on the image of the party and his cadre.

It cannot bring any development to kerala neither it cannot help any labour workers.BJP only can help kerala in future.It is not a (vargeeya party).People should understand. this party same like others are given equal importance and respect to all religions. Try one time in Kerala and feel it. Politicians are not interested in doing good for the country..... They are not willing to elect Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for the second term as they feel that a president should run for only one term, particularly left parties.
What we can do is, should give the memorandum / petition to our constituency MP and MLA to vote Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for President candidate, as MP's and MLA's were elected by us they should respect our request. Students also should start raise this issue to our constituency MP and MLA.
If they fail to choose Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam as our President, we should sack them (the party which the MLA and MP belongs..) in the next election, We should campign against them in the next election. If people working outside the constituency should also take 2-3 days off and campign against them in the next election and sack them from our constituency.
Hope we will create a history by forcing our MLA and MP to do this...

I have 5 acres of land in kerala where we used to cultivate paddy....Now that land is barren...I am scared of Vettinirathal. I am an Engineer by profession I had great ambitions about my future when I graduated from a Govt Enggneering college. After Understanding "Thayyalkarans Vision...Achuthanandan" I decided to get out of this stupid place. I thought of several ways to settle in a cultured nation. The solution was simple...I married a Nurse Got a permanant visa in US...Now I am happily living here..I my chief minister here is Jeb Bush Our presidents Own brother....would be president of the US. At times I compare Achuthanandan and his counterpart here....Now I feel sorry for all you kerala guys.....I will never visit that ugly place(Harthals...vettinarahtal...reservation...viplavam....shit). I will sell my property and invest it here. But still in my heart I keep the memory of "Kunjedathi" "Agasthayahridyam" and my great Malayalam Language........
